Weekend Nerdery

I am making some changes to my blog - frequency (hopefully more often), topics (varied, and more of my favorite things - insert Julie Andrews song here), images or phenomenons I am struck with, and who knows what else.  My personal event horizons - based on my own fascination and curiosity with the world - because there is so much to be curious about!  

Amongst these event horizons, you will find that good, solid nerdery will be commonplace here.  I am a a girl geek and lover of most things geeky.  So to begin, a few nerderiffic gems to add to your weekend:

I've started following this Savage Chickens blog - he's pretty damn funny.  This is the one that started me on it, how could I not?

And finally….to celebrate the LOTR extended edition marathon I am hoping begin tonight (because not only do I miss them, I am going to stretch and say I'm celebrating our independence by watching Middle Earth's battle for freedom) - I present the exceptional Ian McKellen as he speaks about his scene with the Balrog at the Savannah Film Festival last November.   He's so distinguished, and still funny - what a perfect Gandalf - how can you not love him?
